Genesis 1:29 And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. What an abundance of blessings the earth provides even in the midst of turmoil. Though the earth is cursed, it still reaps the benefits of the blessings God originally gave to Adam and Eve; well maybe with too many thorns and weeds to count...all part of the curse. Plants provide us with the phytonutrients, minerals, vitamins, and enzymes we need. These naturally prevent disease and chronic conditions associated with poor eating habits. Poor eating contributes to nearly every condition out there for which the medical world continues to name new conditions and prescribe drugs for new and old problems ranging from attention deficit disorder to osteoporosis. Although it can get complicated when dealing with individuals with genetic predisposition to disease, nutrition can still win. We must trust God for our health and take what He has given us for bodily healing, learn about it and apply it. For example, if you or someone you know had a family with a history of diabetes, it is wise to avoid refined processed foods, include foods high in fiber and that nourish the digestive organs--specifically the liver and pancreas, and exercise regularly. No person needs to feel doomed. Be encouraged and take care of yourself the best you know how and learn more about your body and what it needs. Stay tuned. This is one of the tastiest renditions of Butternut soup I've had. It took me a while to get it right. This final version was completed a few years ago and I make it every year with anticipation. YAY. Click HERE for the recipe So you're trying to stick to that healthy diet, but you give in too often. How about incorporating some healthy habits somewhere else in your day---apart from the times you "give in".
For example, if you're a late night eater (not a good habit), select from the following daytime habits to lighten up your day and ease your digestion (Digestion is a lot of work for your body and takes away from restful sleep and healing). 1.Wake up and drink 1-2 glasses of water. In one of them add juice of half a lemon or a tablespoon of raw apple cider vinegar. This will cleanse your liver and create a more alkaline state for your digestive system for the day. Drink 1-2 glasses of water between meals. 3. Eat 5 times during the day (meals that consist of nourishing whole organic foods). Other habits to add to your day at other times than one you know is like the worst you do... 1.)Take a brisk 10-15 minute walk in the morning (maybe good for the couch potato) 2.)Try a new food from the health food section: How about a sea vegetable such as nori (throw it in the blender to have a shakeable seaweed for your rice) (This may be a good habit change for someone who needs concentrated nutrients--such as the busy traveler who eats out all the time) Comment below some new habits you may try and would like to share... Eat your way healthy! PART ! Beauty is more than simply having a good figure, Vitality and good health play an important part. Skin, hair, and nails are all fortified by various vitamins, minerals that must come from food we eat. Our digestive system releases them from what we consume, and our blood circulation transports them to where they are used.. At the same time, the blood absorbs waste materials, carries them to the liver and kidneys for detoxification, and expels them.(1) We need proper carbohydrates, protein and fats to make the process run smoothly. Carbs are a component of fruit, vegetables, and grains. Protein, a building block of our cells, is present in enzymes, hormones, and antibodies, and carries our genetic material. It is essential for cell renewal. It is found in fish, meat, eggs, dairy, cereals, and grains. Fat is carries fat soluble vitamins. Unsaturated fats such as those in cold pressed oils, and those presents in various plant foods, are essential to our health as we need them to carry important nutrients to fatty parts of or bodies---our brain, most importantly. Fats from fried foods, sweets, and meat are non-essential and should be considered treats as they add to fatty deposits throughout the body and contribute to "toxic fat" which can harm the liver. The body needs vitamins and minerals, as we know, so, to mindfully consume vitamin and mineral-rich foods, means we are provided with the building blocks for bones, teeth, hair, and blood; we gain the energy needed for our daily tasks, and through vitamins we can regulate our mineral balance, and control cell regulation. Without these, well, you know how that goes... Stay tuned for part 2... !.Beauty Food, Dagmar Von Cramm DAIRY-FREE, GLUTEN-FREE
