I don't like to get hung up on things so much that it consumes all my time and effort, but i do like to be educated so I can make good decisions for my and my family's health. Avoiding GMO products can prevent disorders and diseases, just as avoiding processed foods can help prevent disease. Fortunately, If you already eat organic foods and avoid the "big" companies like General Mills, Post, Lean Cuisine and Boca, you are already doing yourself a favor. Check out the link below and get a visual of the companies to support and those to thwart! Print the list if you want and take it with you to the store until you become familiar with it all.http://chiro.org/nutrition/FULL/Avoid_GMOs.shtml

This is one of the tastiest renditions of Butternut soup I've had. It took me a while to get it right. This final version was completed a few years ago and I make it every year with anticipation. The addition of sherry, maple syrup and spices make it warming and delicious. VEGETARIAN and can be made VEGAN click on the picture VEGAN NON-DAIRY HIGH FIBER NO REFINED SUGARS or UNHEALTHY FATS!
I found the most awesome way of making an apple dessert. Coupled with my recipes for caramel sauce and a combination of my buckwheat crust and Amy Paradigm's oat crust, I just tasted this delicious creation. The apple filling is soft and syrupy--all cinnamonny and yummy. Click on the picture to get to the blog(s) and recipe. My version is on the first blog you get to. Amy's version is within a link on my blog. Enjoy! Eat your way healthy! PART ! Beauty is more than simply having a good figure, Vitality and good health play an important part. Skin, hair, and nails are all fortified by various vitamins, minerals that must come from food we eat. Our digestive system releases them from what we consume, and our blood circulation transports them to where they are used.. At the same time, the blood absorbs waste materials, carries them to the liver and kidneys for detoxification, and expels them.(1) We need proper carbohydrates, protein and fats to make the process run smoothly. Carbs are a component of fruit, vegetables, and grains. Protein, a building block of our cells, is present in enzymes, hormones, and antibodies, and carries our genetic material. It is essential for cell renewal. It is found in fish, meat, eggs, dairy, cereals, and grains. Fat is carries fat soluble vitamins. Unsaturated fats such as those in cold pressed oils, and those presents in various plant foods, are essential to our health as we need them to carry important nutrients to fatty parts of or bodies---our brain, most importantly. Fats from fried foods, sweets, and meat are non-essential and should be considered treats as they add to fatty deposits throughout the body and contribute to "toxic fat" which can harm the liver. The body needs vitamins and minerals, as we know, so, to mindfully consume vitamin and mineral-rich foods, means we are provided with the building blocks for bones, teeth, hair, and blood; we gain the energy needed for our daily tasks, and through vitamins we can regulate our mineral balance, and control cell regulation. Without these, well, you know how that goes... Stay tuned for part 2... !.Beauty Food, Dagmar Von Cramm These tasty little treats are more than a treat, providing your body with protein and essential fats, amazing anti-oxidants from goji berries and a smidge of cocoa, and important bone-building minerals from almonds. They are perfect pre- pr post workout food, keeping you energized and lean! Click here for this easy recipe Do you shop on weekends? Do you go out to eat? Do you make a big breakfast at home or have friends over for dinner? In whichever of these weekend habits you do, I urge you to practice a new healthy habit within the habit.
When going shopping, buy a new to you health food or see the optimum you store (Amazon generated) to check out recommended superfoods. When going out to eat, avoid: fried, sauteed, and tempura. When orderig pasta, do your best to order that which has veggies but not heavy white sauces. Skip the cheap white dinner rolls. Best bet, choose whole grain bread for your sandwich, hold the cheese, side order of steamed veggies. OR baked or broiled fish or chicken with veggies and rice. Take to heart what type of restaurant you're stepping into also. You're more likely to find healthy options at the following: Thai, Japanese, some American (but not fast food or chains), organic restaurants, and Inns with restaurants. When making a big breakfast, make waffles and pancakes from scratch using only whole grains, In place of pig bacon, try turkey bacon with no nitrates. Be sure to add some fresh fruit to your morning. When having friends over for dinner, skip the ususal appetizers of crackers and cheese. Put out guacamole, baked nachos and/or crudites and hummus. Where do you buy your supplements, if any? If you've been thinking about which ones to buy and where, I may be able to help. If you are out of the country, I'd love to hear what you buy and how much it costs you. Some great brands I like are Nutiva, Garden of Life, Swanson Health Products, Carlson, Country Life, Schiff, and many more. There's a start. I offer a few essential ones for sale here on my website---ones that I feel all (or almost all) can benefit from. I will be adding essentials to my list gradually, but I'm happy to help you figure what might be essential to you at this time in your life.
