Eat your way healthy! PART ! Beauty is more than simply having a good figure, Vitality and good health play an important part. Skin, hair, and nails are all fortified by various vitamins, minerals that must come from food we eat. Our digestive system releases them from what we consume, and our blood circulation transports them to where they are used.. At the same time, the blood absorbs waste materials, carries them to the liver and kidneys for detoxification, and expels them.(1) We need proper carbohydrates, protein and fats to make the process run smoothly. Carbs are a component of fruit, vegetables, and grains. Protein, a building block of our cells, is present in enzymes, hormones, and antibodies, and carries our genetic material. It is essential for cell renewal. It is found in fish, meat, eggs, dairy, cereals, and grains. Fat is carries fat soluble vitamins. Unsaturated fats such as those in cold pressed oils, and those presents in various plant foods, are essential to our health as we need them to carry important nutrients to fatty parts of or bodies---our brain, most importantly. Fats from fried foods, sweets, and meat are non-essential and should be considered treats as they add to fatty deposits throughout the body and contribute to "toxic fat" which can harm the liver. The body needs vitamins and minerals, as we know, so, to mindfully consume vitamin and mineral-rich foods, means we are provided with the building blocks for bones, teeth, hair, and blood; we gain the energy needed for our daily tasks, and through vitamins we can regulate our mineral balance, and control cell regulation. Without these, well, you know how that goes... Stay tuned for part 2... !.Beauty Food, Dagmar Von Cramm

Click on the picture to see the recipe Although I consume lots of raw foods in the course of a week, and always about 1/2-2/3 of my meals are raw, I do not always commit to having an entire raw meal especially one that I feed to my whole family! I sorta pulled this one off with my husband and baby. For my 9-year old and 12-year old, I served their burgers with whole wheat-flax bread.
Serve with raw condiments such as raw cheeze, ketchup and/or chashew mayo. Accompanied by a nice raw slaw or raw soup, this makes a totally satisfying meal. |
