Genesis 1:29 And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. What an abundance of blessings the earth provides even in the midst of turmoil. Though the earth is cursed, it still reaps the benefits of the blessings God originally gave to Adam and Eve; well maybe with too many thorns and weeds to count...all part of the curse. Plants provide us with the phytonutrients, minerals, vitamins, and enzymes we need. These naturally prevent disease and chronic conditions associated with poor eating habits. Poor eating contributes to nearly every condition out there for which the medical world continues to name new conditions and prescribe drugs for new and old problems ranging from attention deficit disorder to osteoporosis. Although it can get complicated when dealing with individuals with genetic predisposition to disease, nutrition can still win. We must trust God for our health and take what He has given us for bodily healing, learn about it and apply it. For example, if you or someone you know had a family with a history of diabetes, it is wise to avoid refined processed foods, include foods high in fiber and that nourish the digestive organs--specifically the liver and pancreas, and exercise regularly. No person needs to feel doomed. Be encouraged and take care of yourself the best you know how and learn more about your body and what it needs. Stay tuned.
