Serve as a TBLT, or over salad. Even by itself it is a great snack.
1 8-ounce package multi-grain bacon ( I use Trader Joes---it stays firm and does not crumble when slicing), or for hot dogs: 8-ounces sprouted tofu (sliced lengthwise into 4 or 5 pieces) 2 tablespoons Bragg's Liquid Aminos 2 tablespoons water 1/4 teaspoon cumin Pinch dry mustard powder 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
Slice tempeh lengthwise and thinly. Stir together remaining ingredients except olive oil. Pour over tempeh or tofu, turning to coat. Heat a griddle on medium. Coat with cooking spray then add the oil. Lay tempeh flat in hot oil. Cook for 2-3 minutes then flip it over and cook for another 2 minutes. For tofu turn on each side every minute or so until lightly browned.
