Sweet potatoes are a regular part of my diet. I love that they supply antioxidant vitamins, fiber and are a cleansing food as are many root veggies.
2 pounds sweet potatoes, scrubbed clean, peeled if not free from blemishes (sometimes blemishes are deep; peeling them will reveal any areas to be cut out) 1 tablespoon avocado oil ½ teaspoon sea salt ¼ teaspoon allspice ¼ smoked paprika ¼ teaspoon garlic powder 1 tablespoon wheat germ
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchement paper. Cut potatoes lengthwise into wedges. Combine oil, salt spices , and wheat germ in a small bowl. Using your hands, coat the potatoes with the oil mixture. Bake for about 40 minutes or until tender. Check to see that smaller pieces don’t overcook.
