This recipe uses avocados as the base. What a healthy hidden treat and your family and friends will never know, but you can sure tell them after. Serve with fresh strawberries and coconut whipped cream and cinnamon for a divine treat.
Yield: 3-4 servings
2 avocados
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
3 tablespoons carob powder or additional cocoa
½ cup soft pitted dates (soak for 5 minutes if they are dry) (less dates if using Medjool)
2 tablespoons maple syrup or agave nectar
1 tablespoon vanilla powder
2 tablespoons almond milk
Cut avocados in half. Score pit with a knife and twist to remove. Using a spoon, scoop out fruit into bowl of a food processor fitted with a metal blade.
Add the remaining ingredients and process until smooth, scraping down the sides for consistency. Spoon evenly into serving dishes. Cover and chill 1 hour or more before serving time.
